#822 Stay-cation

SOLD
Brie, the dog, has declared she's on a stay-cation. I'm not sure how this differs from her usual existence, eat, sleep, play, but nonetheless, she's on one. . . until the end of September. This is from a photo taken during our walk on Tuesday. These houses look out onto the ocean. landscape acrylic 6"x6"

#814 Unknown Variety

sold
In the wild today we encountered a big grasshopper. It landed on Brie's back, she promptly fell over as if she had been shot. I removed the grasshopper from her fur and she made a speedy recovery. We also discovered she's a little afraid of large horses (but who isn't).

Waiting #808

Lately Brie, the dog, likes to take naps on our walks (don't ask). I've resorted to bringing my camera to keep myself entertained. The photo I used for today's painting was taken on someone's first break - I focused on the other side of the harbor, which was still pretty far away. With Brie digging in the dirt (while resting) the camera gets kind of shaky because I'm holding her leash. The end result is a blurry, far away image, when I get home there doesn't look like much until I zoom in. The image is typically jagged but I can still make out covered porches and what I bet to be hydrangeas. However, I have been told I have an active imagination. landscape acrylic 4"x4" click here to purchase $60 shipping and handling $7

Up You Go #807

SOLD
I was admiring the setup of a mug and jelly donut painting Kelley MacDonald did. I liked the perspective of it, sooooo, I put my stool on top of the card table and stuck a box on that and then another box and then the jar and then stuck the flower in it. still life acrylic 6"x6"

Roadtrip #806

This week's DPW Challenge is to paint one's favorite mug. My favorite is the kind one gets at the beginning of a road trip (and then the one gotten at the middle, and the other 2/3's of the way through and. . . ).

Other News: I saw a very mean, large snake today (he was THIS big, read about 4inches) and screamed. I did not scare the snake, but rather I managed to frighten my dog, Brie, the coward. She scrambled up my side and I had to console her. She, didn't even see the python (read worm). I also do not like frogs. Okay, cute, happy little frogs, oh, sure, molded into ceramic giftware, holding sponges or soap or on kid's pajamas are just fine, but out in the middle of the wilderness, no thank you.

River House #803

I wrapped my camera in a dishtowel, then put it in a freezer bag and then put that in a dry bag and took it kayaking. From my vantage point, this house seemed only accessible by the river. Speaking of accessibility, considering all the things I put the camera in, I'm lucky I got it out to take a picture. landscape acrylic 6"x6" click here to purchase $100 shipping and handling $7

The GJWP Monthly Challenge has been posted, the theme was "Kenny." Page's cat is named Kenny and at some point during the last meeting at Page's this challenge idea was tossed out and stuck. Click the link above to see our paintings.
Other News: Went kayaking today on the North River. Historic markers indicate where shipyards used to be from the late 1600's to 1800's.
