Still playing w/color ideas. Not sure about that shadow in top left of bowl - but but it was an experiment. I think I'll just leave it alone and move on.

Still enjoying the Rob L color lessons. yesterday this was gray light from the window, not much, but if you squint hard. . .

I had the choice of lots of ocean views from the windows or this sweet little area of the kitchen countertop. . .

Okay. I get it. I'm starting to get how to apply my week workshop to my paintings. I feel like all my lights and darks have been asking for more and this week has given me a little more information on how. Maybe I'll get sick of this, but for now it makes sense. . .

I'm back!
Painting outside was great. The workshop exposed me the technique of Rob Longley who studied with Henry Hensche. I'll sift through all I learned and hopefully be able improve on color since it's his specialty!

The first painting with the buildings was a particularly gray day - but the rain held up.

I should add, this is more my way of painting. . . kind of stubborn that way, but I promise to keep an open mind and try something new soon!

Today I'm off to the outer Cape to paint landscapes for a few days. I'll post a few when I get back. In the meantime here's one I did outside at The Glades, a place where only the descendants of John Quincy Adams inhabit. It's one of those places you'd never know about even if you lived here for years. I hope I get invited back to paint more!

And here is one from this morning!

I'm still getting the hang of this - here is my painting from yesterday. . .
