#855 Tomato Takes in the View

Do you think painted masonite panels will get ruined or warped if kept in a non-climate control shed? I'm cleaning out the bedroom I paint in and have taken drastic measures, I want to paint big. I need every inch.

#854 new day, same flowers

SOLD
Meanwhile, on the other side of the room a tomato enjoys the view outside the slider, while perched on a patio cushion - that's a bigger painting. I also started an interior and an exterior - I am ALL over the place. Brie, the dog, location scout, curator and art collector and I are sizing up some new spots to go paint - I have an idea. . . now just the logistics.

#853 Flowers on a Stool

still life acrylic 8"x8" $145 click here to purchase, $7 shipping and handling

Not a daily painting

Just a little glimpse into some extra behind the scenes stuff . . . this is 20" x 20" and has lots of layers and glazing and thick to thin paint. I'm playing around here with technique too. This takes a pretty long time to make, but it's what I'm doing when I'm not painting directly from observation. p.s. it's not finished yet. . . I'm thinking of starting another blog, of paintings that are happening beyond the viewfinder - what do you think?

First you take the flower yardment, then you add a basil yardment, and add that to the empty pesto bottle, not a yardment, I'm not sure where I'm going with this. still life, acrylic, 6"x 6" available at the Rowley Gallery

#843 Fitting Room

still life, acrylic, 8"x 8"

I've been mincing my words lately.

I'm 'trying some new stuff on for size' as I like to put it. Not sure what will fit but I've been exposed to a lot of new ideas, methods and perceptions about my work over the past three weeks and am brewing up some things all on my own too.

I have had the privilege of many conversations with other artists while I've been here in Provincetown, MA.

The only way I know how is to work out these observations of my work and other art is visually. So, I'm going through some growing pains but am continuing to paint everyday and to remind myself, I cannot have the good without the bad. . .
