1190 ETA
sold According to my plan, by the time this gets posted, I should be in Provincetown at the FAWC, unpacked and hanging my work from the summer. I painted first thing this morning, took Brie for one last walk at the beach and then scheduled this to post later in the day. . . I will be posting photo updates of my time in Provincetown on Twitter - there's an icon on the right side of the blog to follow me there. Tuesday is my first crit. still life, acrylic, 5" x 7"

1186 Four More Days
sold I've been using oil on mylar as an experiment, so I'm waiting for the paint to dry on one more painting that I've been working on. Other News: One can post photos on Twitter, so I figure this time while I'm away I will post photos of what I'm working on in the studio on Twitter and also pictures of what I see in Provincetown. More News Still: Duane Keiser is on another Oddment stretch, I saw one posted today of Legos - he's so close to painting #308 (the one Brie pre-purchased) that I have a feeling we might get a painting of Lego's - I could totally love that - still waiting, acrylic, 4" x 4"

1182 Need a Better Title
sold So, the paintings that I'm messing up over here, are the bigger ones that I'm doing for the residency (not the ones on the blog or the website, those I don't have an urge to go back to). I changed one painting today from a table to a chair, then into a piece of fabric, and then I made it an interior and after that an exterior - that poor painting. The last time I was 'messing things up' before the other residency, after the sanding incident, I added line drawings of Brie, on a big six foot canvas, but then painted them out. . . still life, acrylic, 4" x 4"

1181 Recalculate
Correction, we do not need 1000 index cards for the residency- we only need 600 - I have a lot of index cards. . . I've reached the point in my residency preparation where I want to - you know - go in and fix a painting just a little bit (okay who am I kidding, by a little, I mean really go in and mess it up - not even fiddle - think drastic - a sander was involved last spring, the results were. . .unexpected). still life, 6" x 6", acrylic, $100 click here to purchase

1180 Inventory
sold All of my supplies for the residency have arrived. We've been asked to bring 1000 unruled index cards - I am very curious as to what we will do with them. Other News; Duane Keiser has just finished Oddment #302 of his 1000 Small Painting project - you know what that means - (and if you don't)- Brie is signed up for painting number 308 (her birthday) we've been taking bets as to what it will be - she's hoping for a painting of a bone, I'm hoping for anything but a bug (fingers crossed for a fig, he's been on a fig streak lately, and they are lovely). still life, acrylic, 6" x 6"

1172 Almost There
sold I'm still getting to know the fluffy orange orb from Peru, but there it is, almost whole, at the bottom - just coming into view. still life, acrylic, 6" x 6"

1171 Iris
sold I really wanted to paint the flowers that are living with these irises. They are from Peru and look like large orange fluffy orbs. I am not explaining them well, because they are curious creatures and I'm still getting to know them. still life, acrylic, 4" x 8"

1169 No White
sold I forgot to bring white paint to figure drawing tonight which made for some pretty interesting flesh tones. And just last night I had looked at a photograph of an installation by artist, Ignasi AballÃ, titled, "Waste." The work consists of about 20 or so opened, unused cans of - you guessed it - white paint. . . still life, acrylic, 6" x 6"

1168 Habits
I am still practicing my new habit of doing thumbnails for my daily paintings. As a result, I noticed the light on the right side in the background. I'm not sure if I would have honed in on this if I hadn't slowed down and taken a closer look while doing the thumbnails. still life, acrylic, 6" x 6" $100 click here to purchase
