The Same Road to Cohasset #332

SOLD
If you are thinking, this looks very similar to #291, you would be right. I wanted to experiment and do a painting from another painting today - which was a lot easier than painting from a photo, maybe because it was already in my mark making language?

Anyhow, I've been wanting to redo a painting for a while and make little changes along the way. I want to try this again and change the color palette completely. This went well, but it felt a little like cheating, so I set up a still life and did that too, but it's not finished yet.

  2. Such a nice lake and tree setting with just the right type of loose brushstrokes..looks very effortless, which I find so difficult to achieve. By the way, still loving my painting!

  3. I love this color statement. And the blocked, clean brushwork helps it (color) be the focus. very nice.

  4. Trust me, you're not cheating! This is beautiful and I can't wait to see what happens when you change the color palette.

  5. If that's cheating... we're all in trouble. :) Beautiful painting, Lisa!

  6. Thank you all, I'm so glad it's not cheating because I want to try it again and bigger - I wonder how the brush strokes will translate -
