OPP (Other People's Peonies) #370

SOLD
This is supposed to be a painting of the peony down the street. But Brie and I have scoured said shrubbery for a flowering sprout to no avail. I think the landscaper trimmed the buds, so I'm not sure what will happen, will they grow, will they not grow? It's very suspenseful.

So, in the meantime, this is from my front yard too.

It's 10 a.m. and I'm already done w/today's daily painting! What to do, what to do.

  3. A lot of art bloggers are painting peonies right now since they are in season. It's fun to see each artist's individual treatment of a difficult flower. I love the looseness of the blossom in your painting.

  7. The reflective quality of the bowl and the simple, effective demarcation of dark/light in the flower makes this piece spectacular.
