1698 Studio Visit

sold still life, acrylic, 6" x 6"Other News: Studio Visit -  I'm up extra early today in anticipation of a studio visit - one of the few I've had since graduating at the end of September. I thought I would be one to shy away from studio visits, but have realized it is a way to light a fire under my bottom. During the interim of actual physical bodies in my studio, I've been using Skype as a way to check-in weekly with another artist friend who lives across the country
- how do you keep motivated?

  1. Great question my dear art buddy!
You are a great motivation for me!
Making sure that I make the best use of the very short time we have on the planet is a great motivation. A great motivation for me is to sometimes "make" myself paint when I don't feel like it knowing that painting in itself is such a grand use of my time. Also the results of trying to make some art can be exhilarating! A great question Lisa! Love all your latest works. I very much enjoyed the one done with your less dominate hand! Your work is always spectacular!
    Take care!
    Your art buddy!

  2. I get motivated by turning a good song up really loud and dancing in front of my easel. It's extra motivating when I can do so with a paintbrush in my hand. I also get excited by looking at other art, talking to other artists, seeing incredibly beautiful plays of light upon form, chocolate and wine, reading a good book, eating a sublime meal. Anything that reminds me how fleeting the beauty in our world is makes me want to reach out and grab a piece of it. THANK YOU so much for being a part of that fleeting beauty - I am so delighted, daily, by the small collection of Daria's I live with... :)
