Jelly Jar #482

There's a great shop in Bryantville, MA called Salvage Chic - it sells the perfect trinkets for still lifes. This jar is an antique jelly jar, complete with a metal lid, embossed with "Ball" - It's where I go to buy myself a present (or two) - If you've ever read the book, "The Artist's Way" you might remember the part about buying oneself presents? That's one of my favorite parts of that book!

  3. Grand colors Lisa! And like the simplicity with your strokes.

Ball Jars bring back old memories to me - when I first got out of high school I worked at their manufacturer for a summer. What a smell those red rubber rings give off!

  4. I really love the loose brushwork and bright yellow in this painting. Sounds like a shop that would intrigue me as well. I have read The Artist's Way...I agree...little gifts are necessary!!!

  7. Great job! The yellow looks so fresh on that clear blue. I really like the way you handled the shadows in the flowers too. The smidge of red & green gives this primary palette real pop.
