Ah-ha! #511

It's one of those days, in which I really want to try this painting again.

When I squint the values are this dark, but as a result it is taking on more of a metal look rather than glass - when I paint something right away for a second time, I feel like I know what to do - and now, as I post this, I'm looking over my shoulder, at the lit up still life squinting - going Ah-HA, now I get it!

  1. I love this! I always wanted to use my grandmother's ancient blue-green mason jars in a painting, but never did. They were gorgeous in my house with zinnias in them.

  2. Beautiful as always Lisa, I've been out of town for several days so catching up looking at all your wonderful paintings. Love the colors and brushwork!

  3. I love this casual set-up. The light here is transparent and super

  4. Lisa, When you post a painting and then go "Ah-Ha"...do you go back and rework it or let it be and just move on? I go back and rework which tends to lose some of its spontaneity, but it usually resolves the issue...which is usually value or color choice....what do you think?

  5. Hi! Thank you all - Christine, once I post it - I leave it - I might go and do a brand new one after of the same set up but I'm not brave enough to keep fixing after I post.
