#842 boathouse

image reshot this afternoon in daylight - a little easier to see now.
landscape acrylic 8"x8"

  1. Lisa!
Your landscapes are magnificent! Please continue painting seascapes and landscapes! Your paintings, like all great art, speak for themselves, and they say great things. I love so much about your work! Lately I am fascinated by the application of the paint. The texture and brush strokes are striking. Luminosity is another added attraction. Paint anything and everything.

  2. Did you paint these past few on-site? En plein air? Your studio setups are quite good, but I think these are amazing. I agree with Mary's mention of Stuart Shils.

When she gets home, Brie wants to go out to paint, too!

  3. Please don't take this wrong but I fear this one went too far into the abstract. I love what you've been doing and I feel you are charting a totally new course, but when you lose too much, it loses something. Check out Tony Alain's painting. You still can tell what he is painting though it is abstract. You are a very special painter and I am a big fan.

  4. I love this, Lisa. I can see it much better now that you re-shot the image. I love how abstract it is and it doesn't bother me at all that I am not sure what it is (except for the hint from the title). I think you are a natural for abstract work if that is where you are leaning. You continue to be an inspiration; you are always reaching, learning and, most importantly, painting.

  5. Hi Lisa, I can see it much better now and wouldn't have made the comment I did, the day before yesterday. Now I really love it.

  6. Love, love, love, love! Beautiful, creamy color pallet and rich, subtle composition.
