#906 This Little Persimmon

SOLD
Someone has been throwing things off the chair when I leave. At first, I thought it was just a fluke, the other night I left a pile of unfolded dishtowels on the chair and when I got home, every single one of them was on the floor. Someone loves dishtowels, so I thought she might just be getting her fix. But tonight the pillow was on the other side of the room when I returned. I don't know if someone is standing on the chair or taking her frustration out on whatever inhabits the chair. It's all very confusing. I think I should start a series of drawings, What DOES She Do When I'm Gone? still life, acrylic, 4"x4" $60 click here to purchase

Taller #904

Inventory control is not what it used to be around here, I'm almost out of white paint. Other News: Bridgette down at Powderhorn Press in Plymouth did a fine job on The SAMFund holiday cards, I just got a batch today. Proceeds go to young cancer survivors, the cards feature three of the daily paintings, I swear I won't yammer on about these too much more, but if you are interested in ordering some, follow this link. still life, acrylic, 8"x20" $200 click here to purchase, shipping included.

Standoff #902

You'll be able to tell which jar of honey I like better over the next couple of weeks, depending on which one disappears first. Will it be the Chilean Tree Honey (What is that? Who cares, when it's comes in such a cute jar!) or the other honey? Oh dear, I can't remember what kind the other honey is, I'm already seduced by just the name of the the Chilean Tree Honey. still life, acrylic 6x6" $100 click here to purchase $7

Exactly #898

SOLD
Oh, store brand, value honey, clearly made by carpenter ants and not bees, why must you last so long, I am not enjoying you one bit. Other News: I should make it a rule to never collect things on our walks to paint later because every time I do, said things turn into green fuzzy moldy pompoms that do not resemble even an inkling of what they looked like when picked up. I'm referring to my collection of chestnuts collected as Brie tried to rest in the dirt during our walks in October - they should not have pistachio colored fur, I'm guessing. still life, acrylic 8x8"

Long Lasting #897

These flowers are something else, zinnia's I think? I've had them since Oct 29th. Must make me look suspicious when I'm painting the same flower a week later as to if I am indeed painting this painting today and not a week ago. But, rest assured, I did. Right after I killed a 24x30 painting, poor painting. Eh. Thing is the 24 x30 looked like it had potential at one point and I thought, well, now that's boring, so I decided I would mess it up a little. Clearly still influenced by the artist talk by Barron Storey a couple weeks ago. Sometimes I think, well, I know I can paint something but what else can I do to it? still life, acrylic 6x6" $100 click here to purchase $7 shipping and handling

Low Grade Honey #896

This year's holiday cards feature three daily paintings #579, #601 and #443 (pictured below). 100% of proceeds go directly to programs for young adult survivors of cancer. Present #895

And today I'm interested in this old latch on the window, which I don't really need because it's definitely painted shut. Other News: Taking Brie, the dog, to the pet store always seems like such a good idea when I'm loading her into the car. Unlike the other dogs at the store who splay themselves in front of rawhide racks, Brie is fascinated by the kitty litter inventory. still life acrylic 6x6" $100 click here to purchase $7 shipping and handling

Business Trip #894

#893 Fancy That

I painted this twice. First I painted this panel, then I went on to a bigger canvas. My new thing is to spend about an hour a day on a big canvas, it's my revised way to wrap my mind around doing bigger paintings. When I went to the bigger canvas, I worked out some things I wanted to put back on the little panel and then after I 'fixed' that I went back to the bigger one. This might seem a bit like going around in circles, but it held my interest because it was curious to watch how things kept changing and I didn't feel like I had to preserve anything. I should have taken some process photos. Other News: To my knowledge, Brie, the dog/office assistant/curator has not eaten anything unusual this week although I am missing a wood handle brush. . . still life acrylic 6"x6" $100 click here to purchase $7 shipping and handling
