Fiery #966
SOLD
I've been doing some math this evening and figuring out consecutive painting day 1000 is fast approaching. Any suggestions? What to paint? Where to paint? Should I celebrate by taking the day off? still life, acrylic, 6x6" click here to purchase, $100

#965 Stovetop
What you can't see is the other side of the stove which was busy making tea (it's cold here today). Other News: Brie looks smashing, in case you were wondering, she got a haircut yesterday and as a result spent the evening and night sleeping, she didn't stir for 12 hours. She made up for it today though, naturally. still life, acrylic, 8x8" click here to purchase $145

Makeshift #958

I created a little portable studio for myself this morning. I poured globs of paint into snack bags yesterday before putting the bigger tubes in a box to ship home. I didn't want to complicate my air travel by putting paints in my luggage. A roll of paper towels became my 'easel.' I mistakenly packed my misty water bottle so, I had to paint really fast before the paint got tacky. Oh, and the orange was borrowed from my breakfast. still life, acrylic, 4x4" Saturday, January 7, 2012

Daily Painting in FL #955
SOLD
We painted our hearts out at today's workshop. And you know what? It just makes me feel like painting some more. Other News: Add spray varnish to my list of painting things I may not be able to do without. I tried it today and I like it! My list of other painty things I can't do without; 7 paints, 1 brush, 1 spray bottle - the misty kind, masonite panels (hardboard?) from upstate New York, gray plastic viewfinder, a disposable palette and my Trident original gum (don't ask), and of course, the fluffy little stay-cation muse. still life, acrylic, 6x6"

DD (demo day) #954
SOLD
I'm blogging from Florida. Today was my demo-day at The Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs and I found sunflowers to paint. I know - in January? I can barely believe it myself. Florida is the land of sunflowers and surprise sandwiches and sunshine and people who are delightful to demos for. Oh, Florida, is not the land of my scanner, however, it's back home on stay-cation with Brie, the dog, so I'm back to taking photos with my camera, not my forté because I don't take my own advice and go outside to do it, soooo, here's a photo of my demo painting. Tomorrow we paint! Thank you to everyone who came out to the demo today, I'm glad to know you.

Grown in Florida #951
sold Other News: Making a Mark announced the Best of 2011 on Art Blogs. . . I'm delighted to have received the Best Picture of the Year on an Art Blog and the Still Life category. Thank you to everyone who voted for Bottles, Bottles, Bottles, #736. I feel a little weird tooting my own horn, but Brie, the dog, refuses to add public relations to her responsibilities without substantial compensation in the form of peanut butter or diamonds, she's torn. But, I wanted everyone to know, the news has given me even more enthusiasm to start 2012 with, thank you.
